| SETTING UP AND CUSTOMISING THE DEFAULT START-UP VIEW |
Your users may each have a preferred view of the information held on Retain, that they would like to see when the software is first launched. For example, a manager might wish to see all of the jobs for which he/she is responsible, while a staff member might only wish to see his/her own bookings.
You can provide your Retain users with different default views of the data when opening the software as follows:
- Create a separate notebook for each user group. Customise the views and reports in the notebook as desired.
- Save the notebook file under a unique name(e.g. 'group1.rtn').
Repeat the above steps for each set of views required.
- On each local PC, add the following parameter to the standard Retain command line:
x:\xxxxx\group1.rtn
where x:\xxxxx\group1.rtn represents the name and location of the notebook file to be opened on start-up.
